9lb Tay Salmon
Mr Chris Bullman landed 2 fish today. A wee Grilse and a 9lb Salmon both caught on a Red Flamethrower from the Steps and are the first Salmon Chris has ever landed on the fly.

Mr Tony Sheehan landed this fly caught sealiced Grilse from the Cotter this afternoon. Tony also landed a 20lb fish from the Dean's Burn this morning, also on the fly. Both fish fell to a size 11 Park Shrimp from the Caledonia Fly Company.

Mr Tom Kenyon who is 89 landed 2 today, the 1st a silver 6lb fish from the Cotter in the morning and the 2nd a 5lb coloured cock fish from the Boil in the afternoon.
11 & 12lb Tay Salmon

Mr David Chapman from Cornwall and visiting Newtyle for the first time landed this 8lb fish from the Boil this evening. the fish was caught on a Caledonia Fly Company Holographic Cascade

Jack Hopper's 2nd fish yesterday, again on the Park Shrimp from the Boil. Both fish handled and safely returned by my son Lewis...anyone looking for a trainee ghillie?..He even hooked 1 of the fish!!
A grilse was caught up in the Ferry pool in the evening.

Freddie Flintoff & Rob Penn
Today we had a couple of special visitors, Freddie Flintoff and Rob Penn. They are touring the UK in a fish & chip van for their new TV series on SKY, visiting landmarks and famous places in general. They dropped into Newtyle for a few hours, had a cast or 2 then made us all a delicious fish supper..nice!

Mr Rob Crockart from Perth landed 2 Grilse yesterday. The 2nd, pictured, was caught from the Boil in the afternoon and he landed a fish of similar size from the Dean's burn in the morning, Rob's first Newtyle fish..Both caught on the fly. Also pictured is a fly caught Permit which Rob caught in Belize a few years ago...Awesome!

Mr Jack Hopper who turned 89 this year landed this fine 18lb fish from the Plain Tree Pool before lunch.

The youngest member of the Burniston clan got off the mark today with his 1st ever Salmon. 13 year old Jake landed this fine 5lb Grilse fom the Steps pool this afternoon..The milky bars are on you kid!!

7lb Tay Salmon
3 generations of anglers out in the boat today. Grandfather Harvey Burnston and his son Martin along with grandson Jake, all played fish. Alas we only managed to land the 1.
This fresh 7lb beauty from the Cotter was landed by Martin and is his 1st ever Salmon. Harvey lost a good fish from the Alders and Jake lost another from the Cotter.
The other boat also lost a fish from the Cotter....
The water was still very dirty and sitting at 3ft 8 this morning. It rose 2" during the day but cleared a little. Looking good for the rest of the week.....At last

6lb Seatrout
Young Stirling angler Steven McVean landed this 6lb Seatrout this afternoon from the Boil on only his 2nd trip to Newtyle. Steven works at Angling Active in Stirling and is also assistant coach to the Scottish Youth International Fly Fishing Team and has 3 caps to his name. The fish was taken on a stripped Sunray and was returned.
Well done Steven.
Yesterday we had a good day. Donny Brooks landed a cracking fresh 9lb fish from the Boil, Tim Gaunt Baker landed a fresh 8lb fish from the Boil in the evening and a fresh 4lb Grilse was caught in St Mary's also in the evening along with 2 seatrout from the tail of Fiddlers into the Trap.

On the 17th of June Spanish angler Juan Martinez-Cubells landed his 1st Tay Salmon.
Juan who works in Angling Active in Stirling landed this 12lb fish from the Cotter using a Caledonia Fly Company Gold Bodied Willie Gunn,

On the 13th of June Mr Brian Cherry from the Emerald Isle landed his 1st Scottish Salmon on his 1st trip to Newtyle. This 9lb fish was caught on the fly from the Dean's Burn.

Mr Ron Fraser landed this 12lb Salmon from the Boil this morning. It's Ron's birthday today and the fish is his 30th of the season.
