100th Tay Salmon

Mr Jon Wood with Newtyle's 100th Salmon of the season. The 7lb fish was one of 4 we caught today, 2lb and 4lb grilse. all on the flying C from the Cotter pool. Jon also lost a fish in the Steps on a Vision 110.
Mr Brandon "Big Fish" Bryant fly fishing on an evening ticket had a 10lb fish from the Cotter on a Park Shrimp plastic tube.

29lb Tay Salmon

Mr Brandon Bryant landed this rather large cock specimen yesterday evening from the boil. The fish was taken on a 1" cascade variant tube fly. He was just under 41" long and according to the Sturdy scale weighs in at 29lb. He was revived and safely returned. Well done Brandon.

Mr Norman Kyle with his first ever Scottish Salmon. After 12 years of trying and losing plenty of fish, Norman finally landed a Scottish Salmon, it was taken from the Tail of the Cotter on a size 10 Ally's Shrimp. He also lost a good fish on Friday afternoon in the Boil, on the same fly. Mr Don Gow also caught a 5lb fish from the Cotter on a Toby. Well done Gents

Miss Lorraine Greig won a Cancer Research raffle and came to Newtyle on Thursday with her Dad, Gavin. Lorraine caught this 12lb cock fish spinning from the boat in the Steps pool. She also lost a fish later in the day down in the Alders. This was her first ever Salmon fishing trip. Well done Lorraine.
