Mr Calum McRoberts with a cracking fly caught Salmon. The fish was taken from the tail of the Cotter on a size 9 Gold bodied Willie Gunn. Two fish were lost earlier in the day on the fly and Mr Ian Hendry lost a good fish in the Boil on a Vision 110 and Mr John Gunn lost yet another fish from the right bank of Fiddlers on a flying c.....Not so very well done gents!!!!

Mr Scott Gordon caught this fine 13lb fish from the tail of the Trap this morning on a size 9 cascade double and his fishing partner Vic Harvey caught a 15lb fish from the same pool in the afternoon.We also lost a good fish from the neck of the Trap in the morning. Well done gents.

My Dad caught this wee fish on a green & yellow devon minnow from the Steps on Wednesday afternoon. He then went on to lose a bigger fish from the Cotter Stream, right bank with the same lure.

Evening all.. 2 fish caught tonight, a 15lb sea licer and an older 6lb fish. Photos on a disposable camera. Mr Bruce Campbell was the guilty party and he also lost a clean fish in the Trap. The 15 was caught in the Boil and the 6 from the Steps. Evening tickets seem to be doing the damage at the moment and there is still fresh fish coming through quite regularly.

Craig Cowan also caught 2 Sea Trout to 2lb and on Thursday evening Kenny Wright caught a 10lb Salmon from the Steps on a Cascade and had 3 SeaTrout on a Stoats Tail. Well done all.....

10lb & 12lb Salmon on Newtyle today

Two fly caught Salmon today, the one above was caught from the top of the Trap on a size 9 Aurora Cascade and the other one was caught from the Steps on a size 10 Stoats Tail double, unfortunately the hook pulled from the fish as i tried to beach it and it was gone before i could reach it.It was around the 10lb mark and was a very clean fish.
Since the beginning of June anglers on Newtyle have lost 5 fish, 1 from St Mary's, 2 from the Trap, 1 from the Cotter right bank and 1 from the Steps
