10lb Tay Salmon


Mr Clive Mason landed this fine fly caught cock Salmon in the Boil this afternoon and Mr Steven Smiley landed a fly caught 4lb Grilse from St Marys in the morning.
On Monday morning Mr Malcolm Anderson landed a Grilse in the Ferry pool as did Mr Don Gow.
In the afternoon Mr Gordon Smith landed an 8lb liced fish in the Cotter and Malcolm landed another Grilse, again from the Ferry Pool.

3lb Grilse


Mr Gary Waugh landed this shiny wee Grilse from the tail of the Boil on Saturday morning and landed another identical fish 5 minutes later in the Steps Pool. In the afternoon Robert McFarlane landed a clean 9lb cock fish in the Steps and Andy Kerr lost 2 fish in Fiddlers in the early evening.
On Tuesday Bruce Hay lost a fish in the Cotter.

3lb Grilse


Mr Michael Henderson landed this clean wee Grilse from the tail of the Cotter on Monday evening and Mr Stuart Oglesby lost a good sized coloured fish from the same spot in the morning.

3lb Grilse


88 year old Mr Jack Hopper landed this fly caught Grilse from the Boil on Wednesday morning.
Mr John Mitchell also landed a 4lb Grilse from the St Marys stream the same morning also on the fly.
Mr Steven Norris landed 2 fly caught Grilse on Tuesday, the Deans Burn & St Marys producing.
7 fish were lost this week.

3lb Grilse


14 year old Jamie White on his 1st ever Salmon fishing trip landed this 3lb Grilse on Thursday afternoon from the tail of the Boil.
On Monday Andrew Fanning caught his 1st Newtyle Salmon, a 5lb Grilse on the fly from the Boil, Ian Hendry landed another 5lb fish from the Cotter and lost 2.  Brian Knight landed a 9lb fish from the Ferry Pool.  David Ritchie lost a good fish on an evening ticket
On Wednesday, Andrew Fanning landed a 3lb Grilse from the Trap and Ian Hendry lost another in the Boil.
2 fish were lost on Friday, and on Saturday morning Walter Brown lost a fish in the Cotter and Nicky Greig landed a 6lb fish from the Tail of the Cotter on an evening ticket.
The 21 fish for July takes us to 151 for the year so far, which is the equivalent to the 5 year average to the end of the season.
