Trout Action In The Alders Today 18/5/09

  1. Once again i have tried and failed to obtain a trout permit for Newtyle.Under the Tay Protection Order, permit were to be made easily accessable to the general public but this is not happening on this beat.As a keen trout angler i feel this is discrimination as not all have internet access and an address in Kelso for a days fishing is unacceptable.Under Scottish law it is not illegal to fish any river for wild brown trout without a permit if using legal methods ie fly rod and reel with light tackle!!

  2. Thank you for your comment!!

You obviously have access to a computer or you couldnt post on here. We are a salmon beat so that is why we let fishpal deal with our trout fishing for us.There is a phone number to call below the kelso address on the posters to book permits. Everyone has access to a phone be it a landline, mobile or a coin operated phone box. Tickets can be purchases from fishpal via the internet or telephone, they accept cheque or card payment.
I think you will find that under the terms of the protection order that you need permission to fish for wild trout on the tay, so you would be poaching.
This is my final say on the matter.

    Regards

    Martin
