Mr Nik Hope caught this lovely 17lb sea liced Tay Spring Salmon from the Steps pool today

Well done Nik, not to shabby for your first ever Salmon!
There is a little blood at the back of her eye from the rear hook of the two hook vision one ten which caught, her but she swam away strongly and will be fine.

  2. Thanks again Andy - I tried leaving a comment on the blog but somehow couldn't make it work.

"The fish was all down to your skill as a ghille who knows his beat. The manoeuvring of the boat slightly more down in “The Steps” pool and change of rig to the vision one ten from the toby was a master stroke. Catching this fish of the first cast just added to the brilliance! Thanks again for a great day out on the Newtyle beat."
